I live in Brazil where this breed is very common. Everyone (dog wise) I’ve met has been lovely but people treat their dogs badly because they’re just plain uneducated. If a dog barks at an intruder, they don’t comfort the dog and try to introduce the guest but attack their own dogs with sticks. People enter our property and when my dog barks, they think it’s ok to threaten to beat her with a stick. I have been blatantly intimidating to these uninvited visitors and have threatened to assault multiple people who think it’s ok to enter someone else’s land and beat their dog (if you hit my dog, I’ll hit you). The law here pretty much doesn’t exist but my loyalty lies with my family. It’s not a nice situation to be in.

My youngest brother has an American Bully sent from Portugal to here in the US and the dog is a big baby. He's a pup and acts like a baby but thinks he's really light and loves to lean on my legs. Watch out for his paws and tail and where those land😅

My mom's sister has one. We traveled about 100-150 kilometers for her and back, He never barked at us since. He is now 6 months and is still my favorite!

"10 year old Jack Lis was attacked and killed by the American bully or XL bully dog called Beast while playing with a friend at a house after school in Caerphilly, Wales, November last year.
Brandon Hayden, 19, was jailed at Cardiff Crown Court for four years and six months after admitting to being in control of the dog at the time."
